Animation
Animation is a storytelling art form. Our students learn how to design and tell stories for the screen, working with both analogue and digital technologies. The Animation course delivers a grounding in traditional animation, storytelling and design practices combined with cutting edge technical skills to embrace creative problem solving, risk taking and experimentation with mediums, techniques, and material.
This year’s graduate films are a brilliant showcase of our student’s directorial, artistic and technical capabilities, and cover a range of narratives and genres, from comedy to documentary, as well as a variety of artistic styles and animation techniques, from 2D to Stop motion and 3D animation.
We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements and the creativity, dedication, and ambition they have shown during a very unusual and challenging year. A number of them were nominated for this year’s Royal Television Society North West Student awards for Best Animation and Craft Skills – Sound for their second year films and won the Sound award. We cannot wait to show everyone the work they have produced this year.
